Sana Pirzada completed her LLB with Upper Second Class honours from King’s College London in 2006, followed by an LLM in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Merit) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2007. She went on to complete the Bar Vocational Course at BPP Law School, London, in 2008 and was Called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn.
Sana has extensive experience across a range of legal areas and domains. She has served as an academic, teaching Jurisprudence and Criminology at various universities in Pakistan. From 2015 onwards, she was affiliated with Excelerate Private Limited as a Senior Legal Consultant and Director of Trainings, where she oversaw the firm’s training programmes and contributed to contract drafting and review.
Sana is also deeply committed to social justice and has volunteered for several NGOs both within Pakistan and internationally, including the Kiran Foundation, Aisha Islamic Academy (Karachi), and Stop the Traffik (UK).
In 2021, she founded VLA – Virtual Legal Advisory, a platform dedicated to addressing human rights violations in Pakistan and globally. She regularly writes to international bodies to highlight issues concerning fundamental rights and state accountability.
As an independent trainer, Sana has conducted workshops for various organisations in Pakistan on topics such as “Prevention of Workplace Harassment,” “Employee Grievance Management & Disciplinary Action,” and “Corporate Legal Skills.” She is frequently invited as a guest speaker at platforms including Rotary International and Ladiesfund – Educate a Girl, where she speaks on gender-based violence, legal empowerment & mental health issues.
She is also the founder of The Redress Review, a weekly newsletter that offers critical legal insights and commentary on pressing issues around the world.
In addition to her legal career, Sana is a passionate fiction writer. She has self-published five books in the UK: The Rose Within, Vernon Hall & Other Stories, Naomi Byron, The Raven’s Call, and Tainted Whispers of Eden.
