On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 30th July, 2025, with this year’s theme “Human Trafficking is Organised Crime: End the Exploitation,” I have prepared a report exploring the organised nature of human trafficking. It examines how trafficking operates as a complex criminal network, the growing role of technology in both enabling and combating it, and the various forms it takes—such as sexual exploitation, forced labour, and child trafficking. The report also outlines what more governments, law enforcment & the criminal justice system must do and how individuals can play a role in recognising, reporting, and resisting this global crime.
